While addressing the crowd at Koroga Festival that was held at Bomas of Kenya in Nairobi, Kenya, the CS wasn’t able to speak as the crowd heckled her.
Her attempts to join in the festivities by representing the govenrment’s appeared to have angered the revellers who did not provide her with an opportunity to speak.
The CS can be heard asking the crowd whether they are having fun, but they were having none of it retaliating with more jeers.
“Aende! aende! (She must go! She must go!)” a section of the irate crowd can be heard shouting.
The reason for her shouting down was not immediately established, however, a Koroga attendee said, “We knew that she has nothing meaningful to say. Plus how she’s treated our great sportsmen and women is atrocious.”
CS Amina has in the recent past come under criticism over complaints by Kenyan teams while representing the nation in other countries.
In October 2019, the CS was in the spotlight for the wrong reasons after the “Shame of Representing Kenya” and “Minister of Congratulations” hashtags trended on social media.
The backlash resulted from reports that the Kenyan netball team was stranded in South Africa.
The CS refuted the claims and issued a demand letter to The Standard for publishing the information which she deemed as defamatory.
