Earlier today, Elgeyo Marakwet Senator Kipchumba Murkomen called out some top unnamed state officials for boycotting Deputy President William Ruto’s state functions.
According to Murkomen, the officials who are close to President Uhuru, have been sidelining the Deputy President in his cross-country trips and their main aim is to frustrate the DP.
In an interview in a local radio station today, he also claimed that on many occasions county commissioners and their deputies have been warned to keep off Ruto’s meetings.
He later went on to reveal that Inspector General of Police Hillary Mutyambai as one of the few top police officers who has been loyal to DP Ruto and attending all his state functions as other officials took sides.
“Imekuwa mara mingi County Commissioners na Deputies wao wanapigiwa simu wakati Deputy President anakuja eti pale DP anaenda wasikuje (Severally, County Commissioners and their deputies have been receiving calls not to attend functions the Deputy President is attending).
Namshukuru Inspector General of Police Mutyambai kwa kunyangia haya mambo na kufanya kazi yake vyema ( I thank Inspector General Mutyambai for not participating in these issues and carrying out his job well ),” he said.
Murkomen also went and hit out at Interior Cabinet Secretary Fred Matiang’i, accusing him of disrespecting DP Ruto during his rant in Kirinyaga county on Friday.
Matiang’i had told off those accusing him of humiliating Deputy President William Ruto, saying that whoever attacks him is attacking the president.
