Led by Nairobi Assembly Majority leader, Abdi Hassan Guyo, the MCAs argue that it is unfair and discriminatory not to recieve the allowance and it contradicts Article 27 of the constitution.
MCAs basic salary is sh123,750 which means they would be entitled to Sh18,562 as 15% of mothly pay as per the Employment Act 2014.
Hassan Guyo said that the implentation of the motion should commence immediately upon action by SRC.
Other county assemblies such as Kakamega Homabay, Murang’a and Isiolo has so far endorsed the motion.
