On Wednesday this week, a lovely couple tied the knot at the AG’s office with just a few friends.
Kamati ya roho chafu and mwanamke ni standards must be feeling kiwaru because this is not the “perfect” wedding which comes with spending a lot of money so as to enrich cartels who have profited from selling vanity at a premium.
I hope this couple doesn’t accept free gifts from the corporate machinery who have contrived the image of a wedding, as only being a financial undertaking leaving couples desolate.
From the ruracio’s to the actual event, millions of shillings are wasted with cartels looking for ways to extort poor and helpless couples. The lady here looks more beautiful than those who pay top dollar to have beauticians smear foundation all over their faces. Her dress looks more exquisite than the bridal gowns procured from brokers which can only be worn once in a lifetime.
As we seek to move into a progressive phase of humanity, it’s time to discard the ways of the past and adopt a more realistic and pragmatic approach to life. If two people love each other, then artificial barriers like expensive ruracio’s and weddings should not exist.
Please note that if you can afford, then by all means, go ahead and splurge. If you can afford by consciously choose to save yourself the hustle, then you shouldn’t feel constrained by societal pressures to conform with the “perfect wedding” construct.
After all is said and done, it’s the marriage and not wedding that’s important.
Gentlemen, if you find a woman who insists that you must put a ring on it in grand and spectacular fashion, then you don’t really need to be with her. There’s many fish in the sea including such Jennifer Lopez-looking honies rocking with a Kenyan man to marry her.
Mwanamke ni standards, kuleni hio! Kaeni kwa ligi yenu ya kukulwa na ma-DJ na married niggers.
Congratulations Obi and Schatz.
