Celebrated spin master Kriss Darling has thrown his hat into the race to vie for the member of parliament seat for Kibra, weeks after the death of Ken Okoth.
Okoth succumbed to colorectal cancer in July 2019.
Kriss is among Kenyans who are vying for the hotly contested seat. Among others contesting is a brother to the late Okoth, Mr Imran Okoth.
Others include Mr Eliud Owalo, former Embakasi South MP Irshad Sumra and former nominated Senator Elizabeth Ongoro.
Orange Democratic Movement Secretary-General, Edwin Sifuna, Sigar James Agumba and ODM Youth leader Benson Musungu.
National Assembly Speaker Justin Muturi issued writs in a special Gazette notice of August 14, officially declaring the seat vacant.
The electoral commission now has until mid-November to conduct the Kibra constituency by-election, following lawmaker Ken Okoth’s death on July 26.
The late Ken OKoth had served for two terms having been re-elected during the August 8, 2017, general election.
May the best man win.
