Social media influencer Authur Mandela popularly known as Xtian Dela has managed to turn this uncertain period into something ‘ fun’ for all of us in Kenya establishing himself as a force on Instagram live with his Club COVID Radio sessions.
Last night his live Instagram show dubbed ‘ Nyonga Festival’ which seems to be a replica of American based musician Tory Lane’s Quarantine Radio, took social media by storm.
The competition attracted women from all over the county and which saw him garner over 90,000 viewers, all competing for Ksh 200,000 prize money. As far as the twerking contestants are concerned, they were an eclectic bunch.
However, the competition sparked mixed feelings from viewers as some openly criticized him for allowing one of the contestants to twerk as her child watched. During her performance, the mother did not leave anything to the imagination, stripping down leaving many viewers begging for more.
Three parents filed a formal complaint on April 8 and April 9 at the DCI seeking action against the blogger. The parents are concerned with the moral corruption and decadence associated with the show. They said that they are apprehensive that teenagers and other children around the country may be exposed to Mandela’s “illegal and immoral activities”.
However, some have praised him for spicing up things during this coronavirus crisis.
Check out some of the reactions from some sections of social media ;
Should we discuss about Poor parenting and how a mother can Twerk for the world as the Child watches or we just let this work be done by Dr. Ezekiel Mutua? 🤔 pic.twitter.com/ND5eXyTMPi
